Community events make home a fun place to be

There is so much to do so close to Royal Oak Hills: sunbathing on the beach; shopping or eating out at Town Center, Mizner Park, Royal Palm Plaza or so many other places; going to the park, or the movies, or the theater, or a craft brewery or wine bar. Sometimes, though, you'd just like do something in the neighborhood, with friends you've gotten to know or neighbors you'd like to meet. The Royal Oak Hills Association provides lots of events each year to appeal to a broad range of tastes and interests.

Food trucks

What started off as a pandemic way to socially distance but still see your neighbors has turned into a regular stop on the Royal Oak Hills social circuit. A variety of food trucks make stops in the community on a regular basis, setting up at different locations. Keep checking the Royal Oak Hills Facebook page for updates on future visits.

Holiday festivities

We try not to pass up holiday fun. Whether that's setting up a Halloween photo booth with great treats for the kids (or doing some pumpkin decorating), awarding prizes for the best holiday lights decorations, putting out miniature flags along the neighborhood's streets for the Fourth of July, hosting an Oktoberfest party, or holding a Mother's Day craft event with tea and muffins, Royal Oak Hills always finds a reason to celebrate.

Outdoor movie nights

A favorite for many Royal Oak Hills families with children are the movie nights. The big screen is set up in someone's front yard, with viewers setting themselves up in chairs and on blankets. (The big screen is also available for use by  homeowner association members for private events -- just reach out to an association officer or director.)

Chili, ice cream and more

Food and drink are a big part of the Royal Oak Hills social life, starting with the annual block party. There are also chili cook-offs, ice cream socials, beer and wine tastings, hot dogs and 'smores at the end of the school year, pulled pork sandwiches and a sangria contest. The association also sponsors community clean-ups and a flamingo pickup with coffee and donuts. We're always looking for good ideas for future events and welcome your suggestions. Reach out to one of the association officers or send an email
